Shito-ryu Shukokai Union Europe
The Shito-Ryu Shukokai Union was officially represented in Europe and appointed the Shito-Ryu Shukokai Union Europe.
Shito-ryu Shukokai Union Europe, changed its name in 2013, during the 2013 Shito-ryu Shukokai Karatedo World Congress in Amagasaki, Hyogo, Japan and has ever since become the world governing body for Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karatedo.
After having been renamed to Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Union (YSS), our union’s headquarters moved in Nagasaki, Japan, in 2018, where sensei Tsutomu Kamohara (9th Dan, President) resides.

The YSS was lead by YAMADA Haruyoshi sōke, 10th Dan and KAMOHARA Tsutomu sensei, 9th Dan. After the passing of Yamada Haruyoshi sensei on January 7th, 2018, re-arrangements were done in our union and its headquarters are now located in Nagasaki, Japan. Member countries of the Union are: Argentina, Botswana, Canada, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Jersey, Portugal, the Philippines, Scotland, the United States of America and Wales.
Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Union is organising World Championships every 2 years. The location of these championships changes every time. In 2005 it was held in Chartres, France. In 2007 in Heraklion of Crete island, Greece. In 2009 it was located in Waldkirchen, Germany. In 2011 in Tivoli, Italy, in 2013 in Amagasaki, Osaka, Japan, along with the 40th Gishinkan Cup and the “Shukokai World Congress”, to which all Shukokai and Shito-ryu stylists were invited to join us! One central event was a course led by Yamada sensei and Kamohara sensei at the end of these championships where basic principles and techniques of this school are taught. The World Championship of Shito-ryu Shukokai Union was again held in Japan in 2016.
Regularly we visit Japan to practice together with our Japanese masters and friends coming from all over the world.
