Dear national representatives of Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karatedo,
We greet you all from the international Gasshuku of our union and the 50th Shito-ryu Shukokai Karate Do Gishinkan Cup in Amagasaki, Japan.
The seminar was held by our president Sensei Tsutomu Kamohara, our vice president Sensei Denis Casey & the director Sensei Fusaemon Takeyama.
In response to the invitation, a delegation from the United Kingdom, Portugal, Philippines, Germany and Denmark came to train together and share the spirit and the friendship of Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karatedo in the hometown of our soke Yamada-sensei.
The seminar started on the 26th of March 2024 with an awarding ceremony.
It is an honor for us to inform you that today Kamohara-sensei was awarded the 10th Dan.
The presentation was made by the chairman of the Amagasaki Karate Federation Mr. Koichirou Myoken. He is also the chancellor of Amagasaki City.
We are also pleased that Sensei Denis Casey was awarded the 9th Dan and the title of Hanshi.
The awarding of the 8th Dan to Sensei Tony Grainger, who was unable to attend due to a serious illness, was particularly dignified.
We congratulate our senseis who have successfully lead our organization for many years and see this as an important step for the future of our organization.
Sensei Tsutomu Kamohara – 10th Dan
Awarded 10th Dan by the Yamada-ha Shito-ryu Shukokai Karatedo World Union. The diploma was presented to him by Mr. Koichirou Myoken, President of the Amagasaki Karate Federation and Chancellor of the Amagasaki City.
Sensei Denis Casey – 9th Dan & Hanshi
Awarded 9th Dan and Hanshi title. The diplomas were presented to him by Kamohara Tsutomu sensei, 10th Dan.
Sensei Tony Grainger – 8th Dan
Awarded 8th Dan. The diplomas were presented to two of his closest students, Steve Beveridge (6th Dan) and Scott Clark (4th Dan)
